Our Story
In 1990, while working in one of Spokane’s larger law firms, three young attorneys decided it was time for a change. Ron Douglas, Bill Eden, and Marc Phillips decided they would leave the big firm bureaucracy and create a transactional boutique law firm. On Friday afternoon, the three founders packed up their offices and moved into what is now the U.S. Bank Building. On Monday morning, Douglas, Eden & Phillips was born.
We are now a firm of seven attorneys and four staff located in the Washington Trust Bank building. We represent individuals and businesses. We provide legal services in the areas of estate planning, probate, trusts, business and succession planning, elder and special needs law, real estate, and securities. We are firm believers that relationships are the essence of life. We place the utmost value in the relationships we have formed with clients and referral partners, and we are excited about the opportunity to forge new relationships with the people and businesses that make the Inland Northwest one of the greatest places to live and work.
Looking to the future, our continued success depends on remaining on the cutting edge of changes in the practice of law while continuing to focus on the core values that brought our firm to where it is today. Regardless of technological changes, the focus of our firm will continue to be on: listening intently to each client’s specific situation, responding promptly to clients, proactively illuminating issues, risks, and opportunities clients were not aware of, and providing actionable solutions to clients.
This is our story. We look forward to becoming part of your story.
